This is what I woke up to one morning.

The Cold

April 15, 2008

This is a pretty short and simple song. Most of it was written in minutes. As I said in my last post, I plan to see a vocal coach to add more quality to future projects; you’ll see I’m at an amateur level right now. And yes, there is a small taste of what is now called the “T-Pain effect” (even though it’s been around forever). It happened to fit the song, so I used it. Thanks for listening.

First, I want to thank everyone who has checked out the site so far and enjoy what I’ve been creating. Also, I have to thank Justin Robinson and all my friends from Top Shelf for promoting. School and work have been crazy. I say that a lot, I guess. But 2008 has probably been my busiest year ever so far. There are some things I’ve been casually been working on though.

Tomorrow I’m planning on posting a new song titled “The Cold”. It’s my studio vocal debut. I do plan to see a vocal coach this summer because I have so many ideas, but not enough time to find singers to stop by and record.

Photography will now be hosted on . A link to my photostream will be added to the right sidebar. I’ll update whenever a new group of photos are uploaded.

I also hope to start the culture aspect of the site soon. For the past 2 years, I’ve been obsessed with East Texas scenery, architecture, and culture. I’d like to use this to educate everybody about interesting places/things/people around them. You’ll see more of what I mean soon.

Thanks again everyone. Tune in tomorrow!

Here’s an instrumental I produced with my band, Top Shelf. I’m still getting used to recording and mixing live guitar, so the quality is yet to be perfected. We hope to get vocals to add to this as well as more Top Shelf songs, so stay tuned!

I actually wrote this song about a year ago. Since then, I’ve remixed and remastered it several times. I’m very proud of the final version. I wanted to capture a different sound that East Texas isn’t used to, but still have familiar elements (at least from a vocal standpoint). This IS a theme song. Not for a road or shit like that…well, the chorus tells it all.
